Kajian komputasi numerik dan eksperimental pengaruh sistem kendali aktif pada model kendaraan

Abstract


Body design has an important role in determining the level of the aerodynamics of a vehicle because it is related to the effective use of fuel energy and air pollution. The less aerodynamic a vehicle is, the shorter the vehicle's mileage due to the ineffective use of fuel, most of its energy is used to overcome air resistance. This study aims to examine the effect of the application of an active control system on vehicle models. This study uses the CFD Fluent software to analyze the characteristics of flow patterns, pressure (Cp), and drag (Cd). Specifically, the obstacle data is validated through experimental testing. The vehicle model tested has a frontal tilt angle of 25° and a dimensional ratio of 1:6 to the original Ahmed body design. Tests were carried out at upstream velocities of 11,11 m/s, 13,89 m/s, and 16,67 m/s by adjusting the suction velocity of 0,2 m/s. The results show that the application of an active control system can delay separation and reduce turbulence intensity, increase the average minimum Cp value, and reduce drag on vehicle models.
